you show me yours i'll show you mine.

topic of today: why boys and girls are really not as complicated as the other sex thinks.

Girl says: I just want a cheese cake right now.
Boy Translation: OMG IM PMSING OMG OMG IVE TURNED INTO A MONSTER.
Real Translation: Im really hungry and I want a cheesecake. Dammit I'm probably pmsing.

Boy Says: Let's do something together.
Girl Translation: SEX SEX SEX SEX SEX SEX SEX.
Real Translation: let's make out, after holding hands.

Girl Says: Let's do something together
Boy Translation: Let's hold hands and watch chick flicks and talk about our feelings and complain about menstruation and Jay Sean and gag me now please.
Real Translation: let's make out. after holding hands.

Boy Says: Let's just be friends
Girl Translation: I don't like you, you're ugly and I never want to see you again.
Real Translation: I'm not interested.

Girl Says: I hate you.
Boy Translation: I'm flirting with you to make you say that you love me.
Real Translation: I'm annoyed at you right now and I'm trying to get you to understand this without being mean.

I could go on, but the basic point is that boys and girls are really the same. We think the same thoughts, we have the same feelings. Some girls are more emotional (but then again I know boys that cry during books) some boys are more clueless (actually more boys than is normal... jk) but when it all comes down to it, I feel the reason that so many boys have problems with girls is that they think we are more complicated than girls really are and girls think that boys are more clueless than they really are. A person's a person you guys, no matter what the appendages are, and sometimes I think we forget that in the barrage of movies and books that beg to differ. The chickflicks that bemoan obliviousl(y sexy) boys and the dickfest movies that make fun of shallow big breasted women were a good idea in the sense they hit the nail on the head for some people (we laugh because we all know a Gemma from Fool's Gold or a Ben Stone from Knocked Up), but I feel like they've taken things a little too far. Far enough so that we start believing the stereotypes and accepting them as fact rather than as humorous caricatures modeled after Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus (weenus... hahahahaha :D).

I was thinking about it, and I just wanted to remind everyone that gender stereotyping is only reliable when a girl is on her period (then all bets are off- speaking of, are we all on the same freakin cycle. wtf?). Otherwise, all (people) are created equal. Remember that next time you're trying to decipher the opposite sex. or the same one. i know heat, liquid, and dirt are the most confusing girls i know jk jk guys. i love you :D

this post is dedicated to some of the boys that i know who are confused and frustrated with girls. have faith guys. you'll figure it out eventually.
